Reflection
This module was filled with challenges, particularly in the initial stage of selecting an application for redesign. The requirement to avoid widely used, popular apps made the task more difficult, as these apps tend to be well-designed and up-to-date, leaving little room for improvement. Instead, I had to focus on less-known apps that exhibited issues with their user interface (UI) or user experience (UX). However, the options in this category were quite limited.
To identify a suitable app, I spent a lot of time browsing app stores and reading user feedback and reviews. However, since these less-popular apps often have smaller user bases, it was challenging to find valuable insights. This pushed me to dive deeper, relying more on my own research and firsthand experience with the apps to pinpoint their shortcomings.
During the research phase, I attempted to collect user feedback by distributing survey forms. This brought its own set of challenges, including the awkwardness of asking friends and others to participate, as well as the fact that many people were unfamiliar with or had never used the app I selected. As a result, the data I gathered was somewhat limited.
As I moved into the redesign process, I faced additional hurdles, often feeling stuck due to a lack of clear direction. Nevertheless, through persistence, trial, and adjustment, I managed to create a final design that I am satisfied with.
Despite the challenges, this experience taught me the importance of conducting thorough research and finding ways to work effectively within constraints. It also highlighted the need to balance creativity with practicality. Looking ahead, I hope to further improve my design skills and create even better results in future projects.
